FIRST WEEK

Class has started and I am very excited about this group! We have a bunch of hard workers and I have been very impressed with their adaptation to the culture of our class. Here's hoping for a great 180 days!

So Funny!

Homework Expectations

  • You will be required to READ at least 20 minutes each night, Monday through Friday.
  • Each Tuesday you will bring home a WRITING assignment. This assignment will give you a prompt to respond to--about a page in length. You will have until the next Tuesday to turn in this writing assignment.
  • MATH homework is usually 10-15 problems for each assignment. Math homework will be sent home 3-4 times a week.
  • All in all, homework will be around 40 minutes each night. This is normal for sixth grade. Don't complain. :)

What to bring to school

Below is a list of things to bring with you on the first day of school:

SCISSORS. Write your name on the scissors with a Sharpie.

PENCIL CASE or BOX for your colored pencils. You will be using this when you rotate to the other 6th grade teachers. Boys, you are welcome to get a "Hello Kitty" case if you wish.

Self contained PENCIL SHARPENER. Please DO NOT get an electric one. They make a horribly annoying sound.

Set of 12 or 24 COLORED PENCILS. YOU MUST HAVE THIS! You will be using them throughout the year. Ask Santa to bring you a new set for your stocking. It's good to have a new set about half way through the year.

My Family

Here is a picture of my family at Disneyland. Kam is in 5th grade, Adam is in 3rd grade, Max is in 1st grade and Brynn will be starting preschool this year.
